NIGHT EXPEDITION

Aleksandra Artymowska (Poland)

How the idea for your silent story was born?

The idea for the book came to my mind a few years ago and was inspired by my very creative daughter, who’s able to be really determined to achieve her goal.

What's the story about?

It’s a story about a little resolute girl, who’s interested in rockets, space and stars. She wakes up in the middle of the night, realises that something is missing in her room and starts preparations for her night expedition. She collects many bizarre objects found in different parts of the house and tries to construct a rocket out of them. It’s a story about the incredible power of children’s creativity with a surprise ending.

Why have you decided to enter the contest?

I created this book specifically for Silent Book Contest because I felt that a book without words was the best way to express my story. It’s a second time when I took part in the Silent Book Contest and a second time when I am a finalist of it. The first time was in 2016 with my book “Amazed”.
