I have always felt a special bond with my grandparents. I recently lost my granddad and then my grandmother. When she lived alone, I often wondered how she spent her days, as old habits had to make room for new ones.
The book celebrates slow living and the daily habits of Felice, a grandfather in Bologna. It is a quiet glimpse into his home, still filled with the vivid memory of Rosa, his lifelong companion. It is a warm smile as he rides through the porticoes with his bike and his loyal little Paride, off to help a friend, play cards, or keep an eye on a construction site.
This book has been waiting in the drawer for two years, but only now do I feel truly ready to bring Felice beyond a treasured memory or an uncertain dream. It is the perfect moment to introduce him to the world.
Silvia is an illustrator based in Bologna. She has been drawing for as long as she can remember, but she made it her job in 2021, leaving her background in Physics research. Since then, she has illustrated many children’s books, from educational to picture books, collaborating with many realities. She loves drawing about kindness, sustainability, and respect for the world around us.
