How the idea for your silent story was born?

The idea was born from the observation of my mother and her love for nature. She likes to immerse herself in green lawn and woods and feeling part of it. She surrounds herself with a lot of plants of all kinds and takes care of them with love.

What's the story about?

This is a story about the life of an elderly woman who lives in a townhouse with a rabbit and a multitude of friends: her plants. She loves nature in all its forms, observing it with deep empathy. She surrounds herself with all kinds of plants to create a natural environment that she truly feels a part of. After a dream, she discovers the beginning of a strange transformation within herself. This transformation will lead to a total fusion with nature and the flow of life — one that does not end, but simply transforms into another form.

Why have you decided to enter the contest?

I have been following the competition for several years, I’ve always noticed interesting and creative projects, but I’ve never found a good idea to illustrate. It was a challenge for me, it’s my first silent book, usually I have a text to refer to.

She returned to her true love—graphics and illustration—after a brief period working in home furniture design. Angela loves animals and drawing. She has illustrated several children’s books, but this one is her first silent book!
