The idea for the book came to me when I was watching my children playing with yarn. They tangled the yarn around all the furniture in their room and created an absolutely fascinating “installation” that I really wanted to draw.
We learn the story hidden in the book “Yarn” following the thread of wool that leads us through subsequent rooms of the house, tangling more and more furniture and causing more and more mess. We are accompanied by several tiny mice. Step by step we discover what is at both ends of the yarn and what caused all the muddle. The book tells the story about a friendship in a very unusual way and contains a set of surprising plot twists.
This is the third time I took part in the Silent Book Contest and the third time I am its finalist. I love creating picture books, so when the idea for “The Yarn” popped into my head, I just couldn’t stop myself to draw it.
