The idea for Bird came from the belief that small acts of kindness make the world worth living in. Even the simplest gesture—caring for a tiny bird—can bring warmth, meaning, and quiet strength.
An old man, longing for his late wife, walks through the snow to visit her grave. He finds a frozen bird and brings it home, nursing it back to life. The next morning, he sets it free, but a single feather remains—a symbol of their brief yet meaningful connection. Instead of resting, he builds a birdhouse. The bird returns, finding warmth not just in the house but in the old man’s heart.
I admire the Silent Book Contest for honoring visual storytelling. With Bird, I embraced the challenge of conveying emotion without words, making this contest the perfect place to share my work.
